WW People - NY PIZZA
I saw this WW article at ww.com and thought you might be interested in it. I always assumed pizza was 13 points ... looks like that isn't true at all!
FOOD FEATURE Cuisine of the Day: The Pizzeria By Leslie Fink, MS, RD | 1/3/ A New York slice differs so much from a Chicago one that portion-size estimation is key at the pizzeria. Take note whether your slice is from a 12-, 14-, 16- or 18-inch pie and that a thin crust costs fewer POINTS® values than a deep-dish one.
Slim your pizza down by skipping fatty meat toppings, and boost its nutrition value with a vegetable topping or two.
If you'd rather not spend up to 10 POINTS values on a large plain slice, consider some other options, like a veggie slice without cheese, sprinkled with some grated Parmesan (1 1/2 tablespoons for a POINTS value of just 1). Or a side salad with an ounce or two of mozzarella cheese.
Wise Choices POINTS Values Pinch oregano, basil or garlic 0 Side salad, without dressing 0 Grated Parmesan cheese, 1 1/2 tbsp 1 Pizza sauce, 1/4 cup 1 Part-skim Mozzarella cheese, 1 oz 2 Cheese pizza, thin crust, slice of 12-inch pie 4 Cheese pizza, thin crust, slice of 14-inch pie 5
