Crock Pot Question
I see all these yummy recipes with the crock pot, but they all take hours to cook. Do you girls leave yours running while you are at work? Is is safe?

Re: Crock Pot Question
I never leave any it on while no one is at home...makes me nervous. I usually use it on the weekends. I have used it at night for a meal the next day.

Re: Crock Pot Question
yup! thats the BEST part!!! you get home from work, and the house smells AWESOME, and dinner is already done i think its totally safe becasue they cook at such a low heat.... and i always put mine on top of a glass cutting board, which they say makes it even safer

Re: Crock Pot Question
Oh ok. I wasn't sure, I see all these recipes that are posted but it takes hours to cook. Dinner would never be done if I started it at 5:30 when I got home!
I'm def. going to go out and get one. Thanks ladies

Same here too.
Trust me...I was VERY nervous and for years never used a Crock Pot because I was scared of the same thing. Finally I realized that they must be safe if many were using them while away from home. Now...OMG...I'm addicted. Food also tastes soooo much better on a slow cook

Re: Crock Pot Question
Get this one, you can buy it at Target, I have it and it is awesome. You throw everythinhg into it you can cook for 4-6 on high or 8-10 hours on Low and when the time is up the warmer comes on. So if you are gone for more than say eight hours your food will still be ho when you get home. I love mine I have had it about 4 years.

Re: Crock Pot Question
I love my crockpot. I think it defeats the purpose if you don't leave it on when your at work. That's what I luv about it. YOu come home from work and dinner is ready!

Re: Crock Pot Question
We love the crock pot
DH likes to cook meals in it on Sundays while he watches football.
I've never left it alone...I'm too paranoid to do that. I would be freaking out all day wonding if my house burned down with my cat inside. Alot of people say it's safe so Im sure it is.
