Re: How long do you actually use the changing table for?
Jack will be 5 months sunday and I'm still using it all the time. Our house is a ranch so it is easy to get to his room and we have a beagle so the option of changing him on the carpet is somewhat not available since Byron loves to smell everything and well Dh and poo don't agree so changing him on our bed is out of the question.

Re: How long do you actually use the changing table for?
I think I would still be using it at 17 months!
I listened to everyone that said a changing table wasn't necessary, and didn't get one. Though Aidans dresser and hutch set has the cut out for a changing pad it was a little awkward (and dark) if you are tall. I thought that was a good compromise since you can just remove the changing pad when you done.
But Aidan will stay still on the pad even now, so I move it around.
If I had to do it again, I would buy a changing table that could be used as another piece of furniture later or a dresser/changer with a better design.
ETA: especially in the beginning after a c/s hunching over most things was difficult for me a changing table would have been a nice height.

Re: How long do you actually use the changing table for?
The reason I ask is because right now we are still in our apt....we were supposed to be into our house by now (but that a whole other story) So right now I always change Ava on the changing table in the Pack N' Play. I haven't set up her changing table on the dresser in her room because the pack N' play is in the room right next store....So I'm just figuring if we're not going to be in a house till the spring/summer....would I even need it anymore at that point.

We never used one either. We use the changing table on the pack n play or we put a receiving blanket down in the crib or on the floor and change her there.

Re: How long do you actually use the changing table for?
I have a dresser that I use as my changing table and Andrew is 17 months old and I still use it every time he gets changed. I can not change him on a bed because it is too low for me and it kills my back, and I just don't like changing poopy diapers on the floor. So we're still using it!

Because of space constrictions we don't use one. We just use a pad on our bed. It seems to be working out so far.

still use it- my son is 2. He would never lay on the floor or sit still enough on the bed to change him.. Besides, the height is perfect with the table

I have one of those Bellini ones that turn into a bookshelf after (I bought it used, couldn't afford one new) and Angela is 14 months and I still use it exclusively!
