nursery wall colors....
do you have to have the walls painted Pink, Blue, Yellow or Green????
As of right now we are not going to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl. We are in the middle of gutting the room that is going to be the nursery. The carpet is sage green - which is staying in the room. The walls were sage green (painted paneling).
DH wanted to repaint it sage green - i want to make it Bone white.
I'm thinking I'm going to have a hard time finding bedding to match the sage green. DH think we don't have to match the bedding to the walls??
Help!!!

Re: nursery wall colors....
we just bought a sage green area rug and plan to paint the walls yellow. to add interest we are going to attempt vertical stripes with two different shades of yellow. i'm not a huge yellow fan, so i am leaning towards more butterscotch and creamy tones.
we are having a girl, so i'll add pink accents here and there...
ETA: just snagged this pic from another post, the vertical stripes in the picture is what we are aiming for...

My neice's nursery is an off white/creamy color- very neutral. Do whatever you want! Its your choice. There are no rules.

Re: nursery wall colors....
My sister has a sage room for my daughter. (the cute little baby in my avatar) She did a jungle theme called Zanzibar. It can be used for either sex. My sister knew she was having a girl and choose this because she loves jungle animals.

DH is in the middle of painting as I type this, her room is pink and green. I'll post pics when he is done later today. So far it looks really cute.

Paint any color you want. If you want white, that's ok.

Re: nursery wall colors....
You should be able to match sage green with anything. Use whatever color you and DH like.

Re: nursery wall colors....
Her nursery is all pink! The walls are a bubble gum pink and the ceiling is a pale pink. We laid down an off white Trellis patterned Berber carpet and painted all the molding white, chair rail, crown, etc... Her bedding is mainly pink so we are using some green accents to the room. Our spare bedroom is a Sage green, very nice color.

Re: nursery wall colors....
We painted the top half yellow and the bottom green, and used the wallpaper border that matches the bedding as a sort of chair rail.
We didn't find out the gender, but planned on moving the first child into a different bedroom and keeping the current room the nursery when the second came along, so we wanted gender neutral.

Re: nursery wall colors....
we painted ours a neutral color that matched our bedding. can you pick out the bedding 1st and then paint, just to make sure it all matches? i don't think it would be hard to match a sage green though. there are a lot of bedding sets with that color.
