do you shower with the baby?? I was just thinking about this when i was in the shower. I know my showers won't be long ones anymore once they are here, but my DH leaves for work well before I do and I will need to shower for work prior to my babysitter coming....how do you shower with the babies?? Do you bring them into the bathroom while you shower???

That's what I did until he outgrew the seat. Then I used to drag the pack and play to in front of the bathroom door. Not ideal, but it worked!

Brought the bouncy seat in or the monitor. When they had more an attention span, I put Baby Mozart was on.

I would take my showers at nite before I went to sleep and then just wet my hair in the morning and I was ready to go not ideal but it worked for me

Its about the only time my DD will stay in her bouncy seat!! Never have a problem showering as she loves the sound of the water and will sit happily in her bouncy seat while I shower.

I leave my bathroom door open - (not big enough for all of us in there!) and have them right outside the door in their bouncy seats.

Most of the time, I used to wait til he was napping or would have him play on the floor in the bathroom. If I was lucky, I'd shower before he woke up in the morning.

In the beginning she took a morning nap that I showered during...

Now, I sit her in her high chair and she watches Sesame Street or Elmo's World DVD...she wants nothing to do with me for at least forty minutes...sometimes, I'll grab her try to get her ready for daycare and she is craning her neck as we walk out of the room...

most of the time I try to shower before DS wakes up. If that fails, I let him play in his pack & play while I shower. And if DH is home, he watches him while I get showered. Those are the days that I take me sweet time. Chat Icon
Over all though, showers are short and quick and only shampoo hair every other day.

when he was little bouncy seat in the bathroom with me.

Now it is pretty much impossible when he is awake. So I either get up early, shower while he naps (which isn't til noon lately), or but him in the pack n paly in front of my bathroom (which he hates so only sometimes works). They are all very quick showers!!

Now drying my hair - that is the hard part since my son is scared stiff of the hair dryer. I am often medusa on the weekdays or I don't wash my hair everyday anymore...lots of ponytails!

Early on, I always showered when he napped. As he got older, I would shower while he sat in his high chair and watched a video. and then he was old enough to be in the living room while I showered steps away in the hall bathroom. I just kept the gate locked so he was contained in that room.

Now that I have 2, I shower when one is asleep and the older one is in his high chair watching a video. there's no way I trust him alone with her Chat Icon

I used the bouncy seat and then a travel swing when she was little. Now that she is older, I try to shower before she wakes up or when DH is around, in a pinch I have her stay in the bathroom with me and play with a toy (or the shower curtain)

I do it before DH leaves for work or wait till mom pops over. A few occasions I put her in the car seat so I can see her.

Re: Mommies who are home alone with babies when getting ready...how the heck...

When he was a newborn I did the bouncy seat thing, when he got to big for it I waited until he fell asleep. When his naps became erratic I put him in the pack and play and put on a Elmo's world DVD. Now since he has a tv and dvd player in his room I put him in his crib with some toys and pop in Elmo. This works out really well because 8 times out of 10 he is sleeping by the time I'm out of the shower.

ETA: Of course when my Mom isnt working I call her to come over so I can shower Chat Icon

I take my shower when Ryan has not yet woken up in the morning or when he falls back asleep after his morning bottle.
