UPDATE: I found it!!! UGH. I think I lost my marriage certificate in the move...
and now I need to get a new passport with my name change and they require a "certified marriage certificate"....
how do I go about getting a new certified marriage certificate? and does this mean that I have to send the ORIGINAL to the passport agency? They don't accept copies apparently. Do I get the original back???
UGH.
TIA!!
OMG I just found out - thank GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all your help everyone!!!

I went right down to Town Hall and in about 10 minutes (and $10) I left with a new "original".

I think you are going to have to head to NY and back to whatever Town Hall issued the original. I remember calling and you had to go down in person.

Try calling the Township first before making a trip-explain the situation and see if there is anything you can do to get it without being in person.
