Aly took a pacifier last night (a Gerber silicone one)....she ate around 7 ish and I had to wake her around 1am to feed her. Then she woke around 4 and then I fed her again at 7:30am.

Never wake a sleeping baby. They will wake up when they are hungry.

I agree, if she's getting enough in during the day she should be fine. If she is hungry she'll let you know I wouldn't wake her.

I believe in never waking a sleeping baby, unless they are having problems gaining weight and your doctor tells you otherwise....enjoy the sleep!

I agree about never waking here however I do remember waking my son before I went to sleep to give him a bottle at around 11:30 so I could get some sleep . I didnt want to fall asleep at 11:30 and get woken up at 1:00. I just know I gave him a bottle and he usually slept and drank it at 11:30 and then I got sleep until about 4:30.

Did anyone elss do this?

We do... it's called a dream feed. Before we go to sleep we'll take her out of her crib, feed her while she's still asleep and put her back in.

As per my Ped we stopped waking Aidan as soon as he was back up to his birth weight.

(approx 2 weeks for him, BF issues)

I would not wake her in the middle of the night to feed her. She will let you know if she is hungry.

My ped told me to wake my son every 2 hrs to BF or every 4 with formula the first week b/c when they sleep too long they miss out on a feeding and therefore calories. He wanted to see him back up to his birth weight by his 3rd week. Now, I don't wake him up but he's like a clock every 3-4 hrs he wakes up to eat, except at night--he'll sleep 7-8 hrs at night straight.

I know it's been said many times here... let your baby sleep. They'll let you know when hungry.
