bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I posted this on the pregnancy forum but thought you ladies might be able to give me a better heads up!
are the bottle warmer and wipe warmer necessary things to put on my registry or purchase? I hear mixed reviews. are they a waste of money?
thanks for your opinions...

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I didnt have or use any of those. My friends that had wipe warmers said it was a waste. One girl I know said, you dont have it on the road/restaurants , friends houses, etc... and then the baby gets used to warm/hot wipes so its a waste.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I registered for both and returned the wipes warmer. I loved my bottle warmer it was a God-send. It had a cooling compartment for 2 bottles. So when I went to bed, I would bring up 2 bottles for his night feedings. It was great bc living in a two story house I didn't have to go downstairs in the middle of the night. We used RTF formula in the beginning.
Once we started using powdered formula, I stopped using the bottle warmer though. Now I just bring up a bottle with water before bed and I have a can of formula on my night stand for his 7am feeding.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I never registered for the wipes warmer, IMO I thought it was a waste. I got the bottle warmer and I never really used it...so that was a waste for me as well.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I have a bottle warmer and keep it it in my bedroom, I use it every night. It takes like 8 minutes to heat up a bottle but I only use it for 3 or 4 minutes just to take the cold edge off of the bottle, not to warm it up completely. It beats going downstairs in the night to boil the kettle with a screaming baby upstairs!
Wipes warmer seems a bit useless to me and my baby's tushy

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
Never got a bottle warmer, but a friend had an unused wipe warmer that she gave to me and I love it. I love the warm wipes, especially first thing in the morning when it's a little chillier in the house. Christopher doesn't seem bothered when we're out and we use cold wipes.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I didn't register for either and I got both. I returned them. To heat bottles I just microwave water in a measuring cup for 1 minute then plop the bottle in. Total time to warm a bottle about 3 minutes.
IMO - Any of the diaper pails are wastes too.

To me waste of money. I warmed bottles in hot water in a cup and never warmed wipes.

Got them both, loved them both. The bottle warmer was a life saver when he was newborn. The wipe warmer is not necessary, just a nice little treat.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I got the wipes warmer for my first along with a portable one (that you heat in the micro before a trip) - but didn't really use them. I used warm water in a carafe and plain wipes for my first. For my second I am using the wipes warmer just bc I have it, and it' s ok. It's more like a wipes - room temperature-er. I don't have a bottle warmer, but wish I did - you can't put BM in the micro and heating it up with a hot water bath takes forever.

I used it for the first 10 weeks daily. Now I wash the bottles in hot soapy water and sterilize once a week. I got the $12.99 BRU brand sterilizer.

Re: bottle warmer and wipe warmer?
I didn't register for the wiper warmer cuz I figured if Iwas out and about I didn't have the warmer with me then my DD would have cold wipes so I figured just leave them the way they are and she had no problem with them being cold. As for the bottle warmer I got a small one that was very good and useful I also had a car bottle warmer that I liked alot as well
