I got a BFN on an early Pg test
how well do those tests that say they can detect it 5 days before your period. I used a first response one and it was clearly NEGATIVE. i had an extra test form one other time and i am not due til friday. are they accurate?

Re: I got a BFN on an early Pg test
Both times I got PG, I used CLear Blue Easy digital.
The 2nd time around, I used SEVERAL First REsponse EArly (yes, 5 days early) and nothing!!!
5 days early was a Sat for me, I tested every day, first using the First REsponse (3 pack), then I used my Digital, then the day I got BFP, I used a CVS Store brand got a faint line, used a digital and got BFN. Tried again the next AM with FMU and got BFP on both.
good luck sweetie

Re: I got a BFN on an early Pg test
Theres HOPE...The test says on the instrictions only about 65% of women test positive that early..thats only a little more then half.
Some women, like Shana, Dont test positive till AF is due, or the next day.. BABY DUST

Re: I got a BFN on an early Pg test
Some women 'implant' later than others....and then some 'women' start off with low hcg and then some 'women' don't absorb hcg into their bloodstream until later on.
In other words, if you are due Friday...and let's say you have a LP of 14 days ....you are only 10 dpo today. You might have implanted today....or even let's say"yesterday". Your hcg may be too low to register on a hpt. Some women implant at 7 dpo or even a little earlier...so that's why they get a bfp early.
You need a hcg level of a 'five' to be considered pregnant. Most hpt tests...don't pick up the hcg until at least 20 miu. Your Hcg, should double, in about 48 hours...so wait till tuesday and test again.
I personally don't even like FRER....I highly recommend equate from walmart. It's very sensitive and I haven't heard many people 'complain' about them.
Also, the hcg has to pass through the kidney to get into the 'urine'...so if that hasn't happened yet, since you might have just 'implanted'.....it's another reason for the bfn.
