Taking off so many days from work
I feel like I am taking off so many days from work to go to Drs visits & stuff. How many appointments in total should I plan for by the end of he year if I am 6w2d today?

Re: Taking off so many days from work
you will go every 4 weeks until about 36 weeks. Then you will go once a week.
Is it possible to make appointments after work? Or just leave work early or go in late then make up your time? This way you don't have to take the entire day off.
Good Luck

Re: Taking off so many days from work
it's every month till you hit 34 weeks or so.
Try going for the first appt in the AM or last one in the evening so you can go half days???
do they have evening hours?

Sometimes. The problem is I work in Manhattan about 25 minutes by subway to Penn, and my Dr is in Garden City. My next appointment is at 7pm, so I can leave on time for that one, but those late appointments book up quickly

In reality, you should only have 1 a month until the very end. Then it's every 2 weeks, then weekly.

Re: Taking off so many days from work
i'm at 20 weeks and have been able to do my appts. and sonograms after 5pm. your doctor probably has at least one day a week that they are there late.

then I'd be making them WAY in advance!!! The office should not havea problem booking them more than 1 at a time if you need to get that time slot!

That is what I am doing. I am making my appointments for 4:30pm and then just leaving work a bit early and taking a short lunch or coming in early

Re: Taking off so many days from work
I make my appt 1st thing in the am and get to work right after them...that way Im still not losing a full day.
I also have gone every 2wks since my 8wk appt so its also more than the norm. Im saving my days for when I really need it or to add to my maternity leave.

Re: Taking off so many days from work
I have to go at least every two weeks as it's twins and high risk. I'm also a teacher... I can't take off for doc appointments, I took enough time off last year for infertility treaments. I also need larger blocks of time for sonos and ammnio due to the twins.
I made several months of appointments at my first visit because they all had to be after 3 pm. They should be able to do this for you if you tell them your situation.

Re: Taking off so many days from work
I would check with your doctor about when she/he will have you coming in. I am 32 weeks now, but about 1 or 2 months ago my doc switched to every three weeks and now it is every two weeks and soon it will be every week. I guess they all do it differently.
I know how you feel though, my doc only has appointments on Mondays between 12:30 and 5pm.
