voting related ? - is this invasion of privacy?
So around 7pm I got a call from our local republican party office (DH & I are both registered repubilcan just in case we ever wanted to work in local gov't) saying "We know you voted, just wondering when your husband would be coming out to vote."
Isn't this an invasion of my privacy? Or is the fact that you voted a part of the public record? Just seems wrong to me.

Thanks. I guess it just bothers me that they were able to find out so fast that I'd voted. I could understand if they get a list a few weeks after or something, but the same day seemed weird to me. I guess Big Brother is always watching!

That would bother me...even though its public reacord I also feel its none of there business if a person wants to vote or not!

Even though it's public record, that would bug me. My phone didn't stop ringing all day and night yesterday with all the "vote for so-and-so" calls...I just didn't answer.

It's a matter of public record that you voted.
there is a lot of information that is public but it still doesn't give one the right to call one's home and ask such questions. the right to vote is a choice, we SHOULD vote but we don't HAVE to vote. i think it is completely unacceptable for one to use this information for such purposes as harrassing (used loosely) in the privacy of one's own home.
