We have a one bedroom apartment (co-op) and we have a baby. I was worried about having a baby here because I thought he needed to have his own room. I would LOVE that, but right now, it's not a necessity. You really don't need a ton of room...just room for a crib, a changing table (which is optional) and a few toys. I believe we'll be here for another year and by that time...he'll definitely need his own room...especially after this Christmas..Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone have a 1 bedroom apartment and a baby???

We had a 1 br and moved out and in with our FIL thinking it would give us more room, but we aren't really able to spread out around the whole house and I feel like I can't keep things like bottle supplies in the kitchen that much and stuff because it is not my space, so I really wish we'd have stayed in the 1 br. We are so cramped right now, sharing a room with the baby and keeping ourselves contained to two small rooms. I wish we had stayed in our 1 br apartment, because at least the space would have been ours and we could spread out as much as the space allowed us to.

Same here! We actually have a very big bedroom, so we are able to fit a lot of new furniture and stuff, we were able to buy her a bedroom set so she will have one when she finally has her own room.

My friend has a one year old in a one bedroom apartment with her and her husband and they do fine. We will also be in our one bedroom apartment for awhile and we are planning on having a baby next year. I wouldn't let that stop you from having a baby. Go for it!

I had a one bedroom apartment in Long Beach for a almost 3 years with our son. It was ok when he was little but as time went by it got more cramped. We did it though. My husband divided the livingroom with a partition so Sammy had his own space and we could still be in the living room.

It is doable you just have to remember that the baby takes over the apartment but its all worth it. - Shari

We do, we live in an one bedroom right now.
We put her crib in our room and really decorate it her little space. it can be done, trust me.
we will be moving hopefully by next year because she will be two so she will need her own space.

My bf and her DH did it in a 1br basement apt for 2 years. She said it wasn't bad.

WE lived in a 1 bedroom apartment until Patrick was almost 4. It was fine.
