Opinions on house painting

Ok, I tried to do a poll but ...
Here is my question:
Would you paint the whole house white or a neutral color PRIOR to moving in, then paint room by room once you have furniture etc.,
OR
Would you pick colors out for each room prior to moving in and paint that way!

I have received different opinions on this and am not sure what I want to do.

Re: Opinions on house painting

We kinda did a mix of this. We had our bedding for the bedroom so knew what color we wanted, and we knew we wanted blue for our office. So, we painted the 3 bedrooms in colors.
But for our kitchen, LR, DR which is bascially one open room, we didn't have any furniture or ideas for colors yet, so we painted it beige. Now that we are settling in I want to leave it beige but paint an accent wall in the LR.

Re: Opinions on house painting

Take it from me pick colors now dont do all white!!!!

its easier to paint without furniture to cover and move

we have been in our house for more than 2 1/2 years and we painted all white it feels like we live in an institution

I would pick colors and then paint!! We painted all white and then moved in. It is much harder to paint now with furniture and it took us 2 years to paint ( besides my son's bedroom!) the white was driving me crazy!!
And we still have to do our bedroom!! Moving the big heavy furniture and covering everything is a PITA!
