Update on me and I have a question
So I went in this morning... 22.5
The NP (yeah, the mean one ) told me I'd have to take an HCG shot tonight and the pharmacy in Rockville Center will be able to delilver to East Northport.
But, I have a question! Since the original problem was getting me to ovulate and now I am I decided DH and I should just BD and see what happens. Honestly, I don't think I have improved chances with IUI at RSofNY.
Do I still need the shot if I'm not doing IUI?
Of course, I realized this after I left and no one told me about scheduling an IUI for tomorrow Figures After reading Donna's post I'm starting the think that RSofNY has so many areas they need to improve.
Thanks ladies

I think you should take the shot either way. If your folllie grows too big I have heard that it will be harder to fertilize. I personally would do the IUI to optimize your chances. Good luck!!

I agree...the follie can become over mature if it doesn't release in time.
Just curious, why don't you want to do the IUI?

The issue all along is that I rarely ovulate on my own (maybe once a year). Yes, I know there could stilll be implantation issues etc... but unlike others who ovulate regularly, hopefully my problem stems from not ovulating. Honestly, RSofNY's stats for IUI's in my age range are not good and about the same statistically for my age if we tried on my own.
They said my lining (despite three months on Clomid looked excellent). I didn't test as we were traveling but I am pretty positive I had a chemical pregnancy on my honeymoon... incredibly sore boobs and only a 35 day cycle which is the shortest cycle I had in about 8 years.
We've already decided that no matter what happens this is our last cycle at RSofNY for several reason.

Re: Update on me and I have a question
IMO, if you were having trouble ovulating, I would take the trigger shot just to make sure the egg releases, then BD like crazy!!

I agree. You don't want the follie getting too big and it's nice to know exactly when you are going to ovulate. If there isn't a male factor, you can do the IUI and the BDing. I did get pregnant with my second IUI there and that was after a trigger shot.
Do they know why you aren't ovulating on a regular basis?

Re: Update on me and I have a question
Theresa, Although you don't love them there, I think they may be right on this one. If the follie gets too big it won't fertilize and all the IUI will do is improve your chances...they can't make it any worse. When did they tell you to come in and have the trigger shot done? They will schedule your IUI for a day or so after that. I just saw that you are triggering tonite...that means you should be getting the IUI on Friday morning. I would call them and set up an appointment. It can't hurt your chances.

I agree with everyone here -- do the shot, and still get the IUI but bd like crazy too.
Good luck Theresa -- we are all hoping for your BFP!!

Re: Update on me and I have a question
I agree as well. Hcg triggers are the way to go...they actually help with progesterone levels.....and they make sure the follies don't get too large.
RS never offered me a trigger and I have a feeling some of my follies were too big.
TONS OF BABY DUST !!!
I would do the IUI, just to at least put things where they need to be :)

Re: Update on me and I have a question
Thanks ladies for all of the advice.
OK, I'm going to do it.
I have to call them 8th period for my results and then the pharmacy to order the meds.
I'll just make up a sub plan for Friday and probably take the entire day.
I hope we have beginner's luck because DH is leaving for a business trip on Monday and he'll start his once a month traveling pretty regularly untl the summer.
