Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
I live in farmingdale. My parents also grew up there. Like everywhere else, there are some great parts and some not so great parts. FM me if you need more info.
eta: only a small part of Farmingdale is in Suffolk. I live in nassau. Farmingdale SD is in Nassau.

Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
I live in West Babylon and my DH and his family all grew up here.
Even though we are in WB, our fire department is East Farmingdale, but the schools are WB.
Just like the other towns, there are a lot of great areas in WB but you do have to watch certain areas which say WB but are really wyandanch.
Overall, I am happy with the schools, the town, and my location.
If you have any questions feel free to FM me.

I live in Huntington and love it here! I'm not crazy about my school district and may move to Centerport for that reason. I love living close to the village.

What about the village of Amityville? Beautiful homes, on the water, not sure how the school districts are anymore but it's a lovely community

Amityville SD is awful. FH student taught there - very violent. but there are beautiful neighborhoods in amityville - but I wouldnt send my kids to the SD

Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
I lived in Massapequa Park but went to Farmingdale HS. I live in Farmingdale now but our house is on the market because we want to move closer to the city. DH commutes into the city and after 2.5 years he still can't get use to it, plus now we have a baby and he only gets to see him a few minutes a day because he gets home later.

I grew up in Farmingdale (Nassau part) and was in the Plainedge SD - nice area, good schools - close to just about everything.

I highly recommend Huntington (in SD #6), Centerport & North Greenlawn.

We moved to Lindenhurst and love it! We are in the village section even though I think all Lindenhurst residents go to the same HS.

All the people I know went to Catholic school, I suppose that's why! Such a shame for such a nice area. Shocking that the homes can cost so much w/such a bad SD

Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
I grew up in North Massapequa and went to Farmingdale schools. DH and I tried to buy there, but got a lot more for our money in Lindenhurst.
We're very happy here and it is nice and close to where we both grew up.
(He is from Massapequa - Massapequa Schools.)

Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
I'm in Cold Spring Harbor SD - and it always ranks very high (I live in Suffolk, but the school district is considered Nassau? ). Most of the other SD in Huntington rank very well too.
I have a friend who grew up in N Massapequa, but went to Catholic school. But she looked to buy in that area too.

Re: how is farmingdale area or any other western suffolk areas?
We just moved into South Farmingdale, it's really nice here and so close to everything! From our research the SD seems to be very good.
