Find a lawyer that has plenty of experience with that particular co-ops closing procedures (not just co-ops in general).
I specifically used a different lawyer for my co-op closing (as compared to my house closing) because I wanted someone that was not only good with the board and management office, but knew all the co-ops stupid hidden rules.

We just sold our co-op..
I would have said the same thing Pill did. Also in our experience, selling the co-op took alot longer because of the co-op board and their rules (at least where we were). They have to approve the buyer and the whole process seemed to take alot longer than with a house.

I also agree with DJPill. I worked for attoreny in Great Neck and he dealt with alot of the co-op's in the area and was very familiar with the co-op boards and management.
