Cycle length question

Got a question for you ladies. My usual cycle is 27-28 days but from July to August was only 25(Do you count the day of your period as CD 1 or the next day?) I am having trouble figuring out when I should ovulate. The OPK has been negative and I also have a saliva test thats been negative. I do have the clear strechy CM though. Also can I get pregnant if I ovulate and then have sex or does it have to be before? Sorry if these are stupid questions but I am confused!

Re: Cycle length question

I must say, all those questions were intelligent!

The first day of Af is cd1. If your cycles are about 28 days, you probably ovulate around...cd 14. When your cycle was 25, your ovulation was probably cd11. You can ovulate at different times, throughout the course of the year. Sometimes your ovulation date can be much later than usual, or even earlier. It's best to start checking for ovulation pretty much as soon as AF is done, especially if your cycles are fairly short. Your Luteal Phase stays pretty constant though. That's the days past ovulation (dpo). Most people have a LP of about 14 days, give or take a few days. That's why we refer to it as the 2WW. (2 week wait).

Make sure you don't confuse Cm with arousal fluid or semen. The best way to check CM is by swiping your cervix. EWCM, usually means you are approaching O and could be Oing that day. Once you already Ovulate, you sometimes can catch the egg. The egg lives up to about 24 hours....so if you bd the day after ovulation, that sometimes does the trick. Especially if you ovulated late in the day and then bd the next morning in the AM.

I hope I was able to answer some of those questions.
