Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I'm still a film girl but I want to get wtih the whole digital era. So, when you take your pics, how do you store them? On cd or on the computer? How do you go about printing them? Do you copy to a cd or do you order online? Where do you get your prints printed? How much per picture?
TIA

I have a memory card on my Digital. So I always copy them on my computer. and then save them to shutterfly just in case...
I have a photo printer. So I print my own prints

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I like to use Shutterfly. I upload the pictures to the site then I pick which ones and what sizes I want to print! Very easy!!

I upload all pics to my computer. Every few weeks I make back-up CDs. I only print select pictures that I really like, most of them I don't print. The one I do print, I usually use Shutterfly.com, but will occasionally use another website if they are having a deal. I also upload most of my pics to shutterfly.com because it is easy to share the album with friends and family, and they can order prints right there when they view the album. Sometimes I will upload to walmart or target online and pick them up in-store if I need them in a hurry (you can do 1-hr photo with them). I also make a lot of photobooks (from mypublisher.com or shutterfly.com) of vacations and events. I like them better than a regular photo album. You can also bring your memory card into a store to have your pictures printed. I prefer to upload them to my computer first,so I can edit red eye and stuff first.

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
Thank you for your responses. Now for a few more questions. What do you edit with? Can you edit once you've uploaded to Kodack or Shutterfly or only before?
Can you bring either a memory card or cd to print pics?
What is a good price for printing?

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I keep the favorites on my memory card --- which I need to stop doing because it's taking up space.
I also have CDs that I'veburned them onto.
Then I also store my pics on kodakgallery.com so that they are backed up online and I usually print through walgreens because you can upload them online but then pick them up in the store and pay with cash -- I try not to use my CC online too much.

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I use Photoshop Elements 3 to edit my photos, and print them at home. I have an Epson 1280 which makes great prints that have a long life. I have an external hard drive that I back up to, and I plan to transfer some of my favorites to CD as well, though the life of CD's is not forever - you need to recopy to new CD's or DVD's after 5 or so years I've been hearing. I also heard that the gold ones are the best - don't get the cheapo's for your photos. Magnetic tape is actually considered to be one of the better options for storage.

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I do it a little differently.. I upload all my pics to costco.. they cost about 17 cents a pic and then I can pick them up the same day and they give me a photo cd of all the pics... I take wayyyyyyy to many pics to do it on my own.

Re: Let's talk digital pictures!!!
I offload from my memory card to my laptop, upload to kodakgallery.com within a few days unless someone wants them right away. Once or twice a month, I offload from my laptop to an external hard drive. Occasionally I"ll burn a cd for someone for their photos, but don't do it for my own photos. If I ever really need them back, I can get them from Kodakgallery.
I rarely print my photos. If I do, it's for my mom. At the end of the year, I buy a photo book from kodakgallery of the important events (or just cute pictures) for that year.
For editing, I use 3 different programs (Adobe Photoshop C2, Jasc Printshop Pro 9 and Microsoft Office Picture Manager.

Does Kodak have a limit to the number of albums?

I'm not sure. I'm at 89 albums as of Thursday.
