Re: well I just spoke to my gyno

I have not had either but I think they are pretty common.... Maybe your Dr. can tell you why you need them ..be sure to ASK QUESTIONS whenever you don't understand something!! You deserve answers.

Re: well I just spoke to my gyno

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do NOT schedule anything like this!! NO WAY!!

Your doctor is telling you to have things done that may very well be unnecessary.

Who are you seeing? A OBGYN or a RE?

My OBGYN told me I would probably have to have a laperscopy too ...when I went to my RE she did internal sonos, looked at my HSG xrays and told me that I did NOT need a laperscopy.

Please please dont do this until you go get a 2nd opinion. This is surgery which A) may keep you in the hospital over night and B) has a 1-2 week recovery period!

back years ago this was how things were diagnosed all the time, but its no necessary now a days...hopefully you can avoid this.

Where do you live? My RE is in Mineola...they are in Stonybrook too.

Look Im not trying to push the RE on you at all but you need a 2nd opnion and the REs office is SO up to date on all procedures dealing with this kind of thing...please check it out.

PS this is exactly what I have (on my right tube...blockage)...the RE did not want to do a Lap...said it wasnt necessary. Besides you only need 1 tube to get PG! Please look in to seeing another doctor...this one may not be as up to date on new procedures.

I agree...definately get a second opinion! I wont even have the hsg done until I get the second opinion from the re in August. I am trying to avoid any invasive procedures unless they are TRULY necessary! Good luck!

I had the same thing "oh everything looks fine" and then OBGYN said otherwise. My RE agreed with the radiologist final report though.

No pushing, honest, but check out www.RSofNY.com - this is where many of us go for the RE. I see Dr. Mary Bray in Mineola and like her a lot.

My 1st appointment was June 30th and in the last 15 days since my initial report we have already donw a TON of blood work, 4 sonos, a SA on my DH and we're doing our first IUI as soon as I O!!! They move fast and they are GREAT!! They are very good at what they do.

You only need one tube to get pregnant. In case you can't get in to see Dr. Bray, I go see Dr. Maria Saketos there and have been very happy. I go for my next consult on 7/26 and I'm very anxious to hear what she thinks our options are.

But I also agree with Kathy by how fast they move in that office.

Good luck! I also agree with getting a second opinon about the surgery

Well we have a few other factors contributing to our problems getting PG. One being I have a very tilted uterus and another being that I have cervical stenosis. So...everything contributes to it.

I only had to wait one wk to get my appt with Dr Bray, it was fast...and she is very good.

ETA: I'm also 32 and want more than one baby...so she asked us if we wanted to start IUI and I jumped at the chance. Ive already 'wasted' 10 cycles trying this on our own and not having any luck.

My OBGYBN told me, we found out becayuse she wasnt able to do my endometrial biopsy bc I am so closed up.

Dr Bray is fairly new to RSofNY (but has been a RE for a long time).
ETA Dont stress, the 1st appt is only a consult anyway!

I agree, but take the first appointment that RSoNY has, regardless of with who. You wind up seeing ervyone anyway, and they are all good!! I have seen Stelling, Bray and Saketos and Cain so far (1 month).

Dont do any other tests yet!!!!!!

Re: well I just spoke to my gyno

I would wait as well..I have a friend scheduled for both and I tried to advise her as well...her dr. is very "old" school and doing it anyway, and I dont think she needs it, but Im not a DR.

on another note. Im seeing Dr. Bray on July 21st. Only took like 10 days for my appointment and I was specific with what time I could come too.

I also have cervical stenosis and my Dr could clearly see it during a pelvic exam.

I also have absolutly NO EWCM, I only get some sticky and then nothing and thats a clear sign of cervical stenosis or scarring.

Hmmm....I am kind of iffy about posting this....but if you need advice about who to see at Reproductive Specialists of N.Y. forum mail me. There are reasons why some doctors aren't listed.

I think since a lot of us are going there, it would help to hear your reasons? Are you going there?

IF the information is helpful I would like to hear it...

Thanks

Re: well I just spoke to my gyno

I decided to delete, that post, and now it's up ...your quick..donna. lol

Ok. let me explain....I do go there.....been going there since, March. I am extremely pleased with my doctor, Dr. Saketos. The way it works, just like it was mentioned earlier, is that you sometimes end up seeing other doctors...as well. If you have any questions just forum mail.
