I have a hi-ranch, but the lower half is half underground, does that make sense. We are dry here so far......

Re: Water in the basement? POLL
My parents basement usually gets flooded. Ever since they bought an automatic pump (which pumps water off the patio before going into the basement) it's been dry. Thank goodness because my Dad freaks out when it rains.

Re: Water in the basement? POLL
I live in Bellerose Queens and last night we had 2 small puddles near a window, but it didn't appear like it was actually from the window, maybe the ground. Our basement in unfinished so we will probably look into getting it sealed

It's dry (DH just checked last night to be sure) but the dehumidifier is filling up faster than usual.

Re: Water in the basement? POLL
We have and inch or 2 in our basement and our sump pump is running almost constantly for the past day or so. I guess that is the price we pay for living on the water

Re: Water in the basement? POLL
we have some puddles in our basement - it seems we need to put some caulk around our window when this is all over!!
we've lived here a year, and this is the only time we've had an issue. UGH!!

4 Feet!!! Lindenhurst, a few houses from the water. We have to turn the pump on every half hour or so. And we once again have a nice river in front of the house covering the road. Gotta go see if I parked the car far enough down the road!!
