Babies in your Room

What did the baby sleep in when they were in your room? Did you use a pack 'n play - or something else? How did it work out for you?
Thanks

Bassinet for about 3 months and it worked out well for us. I had the Eddie Bauer one.

We used a pack n play w/bassinet attachment for 10 weeks, which worked fine for us. The transition into the crib was no big deal for her, I just had to get used to not being able to check on her as easily.

Carseat for the first month or so. After that, he was in his own room in his crib.

We had a bassinet in the bedroom, but he hated it.

Re: Babies in your Room

We live in a one bedroom co-op, so the crib is on the other side of the room.

Re: Babies in your Room

We used the bassinet in the pack N play for 2 weeks - my husband and I barely slept with him in our room since we were up with every peep! My husband finally talked me into putting him in his crib and it was great from then on! For my next baby I will be putting him/her in his crib right away.

Re: Babies in your Room

We're planning on using the pack n play in our bedroom for the first couple of months that she is sleeping with us. Then she will (hopefully) go in her crib.

I didn't feel like it was necessary to buy a bassinet when we had the pack n play.

We have a Graco cradle/bassinet similar to this one which I put right next to me at night.

Re: Babies in your Room

I had borrowed my SIL bassinet for our room and I had borrowed my cousin wicker bassinet as well. They both worked out great

DS #1 was out of the bassinet and into his crib @ 7 weeks. DS#2 was in the bassinet for first 3 months, then in the pack & play for a month until I got the courage to put him in the same room as his brother. Chat Icon

Re: Babies in your Room

Molly was in a bassinet in our room until she was 5 months old and I would not change a thing about that time.

Re: Babies in your Room

we are using the co-sleeper attached to our bed. So far it is working out great. He naps in his crib during the day and goes to bed in the co-sleeper at night.

Re: Babies in your Room

Nate slept in his Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper for 8 months. We just moved his crib into our bedroom bc we're having heat issues in his bedroom.

Jacob sleeps in his carseat but it is in the livingroom and i sleep on the couch. He has acid reflux so he likes being elevated. The bassinett is totally useless for me, I am actually going to be selling it since it was never used and is just taking up space.

I am trying to transition him into his crib during the day for naps, but so far i can only get 20 min to 30 min of sleep for him in there before he starts sreaming. Chat Icon One of these days.... one of these days....Chat Icon

Aidan was in our room for approx 2-3 weeks, DH made him a beautiful cradle and it took us that long to realize he hated it! We moved him to his crib in his own room and he was much happier! Chat Icon
