Repost- Gestational Diabetes

If some of you read my previous posts, you saw that I was concerned about having GD even though I took the test two times earlier in the pregnancy and both came back normal. Last week I went for a NST and the perintalogist suggested that I go for the test again. I went this past Tuesday and my doc called me today to tell me that I am borderline.

I am worried because I am 36 weeks now. Who would I go to see first? I am waiting anxiously for my doctor to call me back.

Also, any advice on what I should and should not be eating.

Re: Repost- Gestational Diabetes

Hello there. My sister had borderline GD (my other sister, not the one who thinks she is pregnant lol). She had to have blood tests regularly to check her sugar. She was told to slow down on carbohydrates and candy and such.

Re: Repost- Gestational Diabetes

I have gd. My first step was to see a nutritionist. I also have to test my blood sugar.
Basically for now stay away from carbs and obvious sugar stuff (candy, etc.)

Re: Repost- Gestational Diabetes

I understand your concerns. I failed my one hour and for my three hour one of my values came back high (at the 2 hour mark)...so this morning I am awaiting my "challenge test" (fasting blood sugar, eat a regular meal, return to draw blood again after two hours). I have to leave for the lab in 10 minutes. I guess I am being considered borderline since my values weren't "that high". They probably will send you to a nutritionalist, but I don't know. That's what I am assuming is in my future...but I have 10 weeks left.
