How do you get paint off of jewelry?

How do you get paint off of jewelry?

DH and I were painting our house today w/our wedding rings on! Chat Icon I can't seem to get the paint off! HELP!

Pour some windex into a little glass and heat in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds (so its reallllly hot)....remove the glass from the microwave, put the rings in the glass and let them soak for a while. The windex will NOT harm gold, plat, or diamonds. (DO NOT use this on soft stones and/or pearls!) Brush with a really soft toothbrush or the jewelry cleaner brush, then rinse with water.

and if that doesn't work,
soak in a combo of ammonia and water (I use 2 parts water, 1 part ammonia) - simmer on low on the stove for about 10 minutes.....brush with a really soft toothbrush or the little brush that comes with most jewelry cleaners, then rinse.


Both of these combos are *safe* - my jeweler uses the ammonia all the time.

agreed!!!! i do both to clean my rings and it gets all the dirt and stuff off!
