'thank you"...a behavioral issue???
I was reading in the paper a column where a person was complaining about not getting a "thank You" for a gift. The advice giver said that yes it is rude but the fact is that it has become very behavioral for people to not say Thank You. I cant believe that we are going to categorize peoples "bad behaviors" as a bhavioral issue. Lets call it what it is...rude! My psychology books have gotten so thick with the small criteria of peoples behaviors. Everything that everyone does can now be defined in the DSM.

I agree. My BA is in psych and by the time I finished, it just seemed like everything is " a chemical imbalance"
I think that poor manners are habits and not dependent upon what kind of chemicals someone has in their brain. People make a choice to be inconsiderate...

My mom taught us to send thank you cards for any gifts we receive. I still do it to this day!
I think it's a parent's responsibility to teach proper etiquette to their children at a young age.
