did you register for car seats for when the baby doesnt fit in the infant seat?
i'm wondering if i should take it off the registry. ONly because i know companies are always changing products and if i did get it now, by the time its used it would already be a year old!

I did-I don't think it will be that long before they need it such that requirements, etc change.

there are some carseats - like the britax marathon that have remained pretty consistent.
I didn't register for a convertible though - just he infant carrier.

Note: My daughter outgrew her carseat at 4.5 months. I think they are a bit bigger now then they were 2 years ago, but just enough that she would have lasted 6 months...

I registered for this one based upon my friends recommendation as well as the lady in BBB.
The Marathon Convertible Carseat - Onyx By Britax.
It will last a long time as it will accomadate an ever growing child ( weight and height wise).
I also registerd for the Graco snugride with the eps foam. ( for the infant stage) As well as the frame to snap the Snugride on to. As recommended by my friend and the Baby Bargains Book

I didn't either.
I know most people would disagree with me and say to "just put it on", but I kind of feel things that aren't going to be used for a year (possibly) should really be the responsibility of the parents. Plus, my SIL only got the convertible and her MIL had to run out to BRU and buy them an infant seat to come from the hospital with.
Stepping off my soap box, that is just my personal feeling on it.

I did register for them. They are a little pricey but I figured if I didn't receive it as a VERY generous gift, that I would be buying it any way. My grandmother ended up buying them for me.

This is why I was advised to register for it as well. It's so confusing what is needed and what isn't I have been consulting in my friends that have kids and going with the consensus.

I did - but I also needed to put things on the registry bc everyone was complaining I didn't have enough items (for 100 people to buy)

Yep. It's something you need for the baby so why not put it on the registry?

Re: did you register for car seats for when the baby doesnt fit in the infant seat?
I only registered for 3 convertible seats...and got all 3. My son weighed 5.5 pounds at birth, and he fits in the convertible seat just fine.
I personally can't carry the infant carrier ones because it's too heavy for my skinny arms and weak wrists, that and why spend the $$$ on something I will surely toss out in a year or less? I've known babies who weighed 20 pounds at 6 months and were too long for the carrier seats as well.
We have the Evenflo Triumphs...they are great and have all the same features as some other seats that cost twice the price and then some.
