How long does it take a cat to get used to new food?
Hey guys, I hope you can help me.
To make a long story short, my 2 year old cat Lydia is in the early stages of kidney disease. Her creatin (sp?) levels are just slightly above normal, 2.7, a 2.4 being normal. We were feeding her Natural Balance wet and dry, our Vet suggested Hill Science K&D. So we have been mixing the two together to ease her into it, 1/2 Natural Balance, 1/2 K&D. But she eats so little, I am concerned she isn't eating enough. I don't want her to starve. How long will it take her to warm up to the new food?

You should mix the new food with her old food for about five to seven days!!
for your cat!!

def keep mixing her food. add more of the new one each day. if you switch her cold turkey she may gt the runs and stuff. also, i hear that when a cat eats a healthier food they eat less b/c they get more of the good stuff quicker. hope that makes sense. i guess their body just knows.
i am so sorry to hear this though, i had no idea!
