Strep Throat
What are the symptoms of strep throat? I have never had it so i don't know but my throat hurts but only o n one side, and it looks swollen when i look in my mouth, my ear also hurts when i swallow. I am not stuffy, and i have a temperature of 99.0. Does this sound like strep or am i just paranoid and its a regular sore throat? TIA

It could be a sinusites- a bad sinus infection. I have one now and so does my bil girlfriend.
Sore throat - runny nose- low grade fever - ears stuffy- can't smell or taste?
My DR gave me 5 day antibiotics yesterday and they are working well
Double check with the DR but so many people are getting this now

I had strep twice a few years ago, back to back, and it was a horrible sore throat and fever. I would go get the strep test just in case but lots of colds/sinus infections have your symptoms.

Thanks everyone, i didn't think it was strep throat, i just have never seen my throat look that swollen. I think i'll call the doctor and se eif he can get me in today..

I had it two weeks ago. I thought it was the flu b/c I had body aches and was exhausted with a 102 fever. The day prior to that, I had a mild sore throat. The day after that, it felt like I was swallowing daggers!!! It was so painful and I couldn't get out of bed. They;ll do a culture test and maybe even a blood test. Antibiotics will heal it.

Whenever I get this... they give me Amoxil or Amoxicillin and it goes away rather quickly.
Just make sure you aren't allergic to penicillin if you take this drug.

When you have strep, it really really hurts to swallow and may even just hurt in general. Some people also run a fever. Hope you feel better.

It could be bronchitis as well. Its going around. I also take amoxycillin and its gone!

I thought I just had strep, but turns out it was the whole sinus thing too!! My doctor put me on the Z-pack anitbiotics and it's now gone!
I think when you have strep, you can see white spots in your throat.
Feel better!

Strep was going around our office and the people were coming to work - they were surprised that they had it since they did not have a bad sore throat only a slight one on one side - so were suprised when the test came back positive. Go for a test it never hurts at least you will know one way or the other
