Re: Questions to ask about a job...
Questions for the headhunter: How large is the company? Any travel involved? What is the job description? Who do you report to? What are the hours? What salary are they offering? Is overtime paid? Benefits? What kind? How much do they pay? Direct Hire or Temp to Perm? Why did the last person leave that position? What are they looking for in the applicant?

Re: Questions to ask about a job...
I already know the job description, salary range from the headhunter and some info about the benefits (like I know they have medical, dental, 401K, tuition reimbursement... I just don't have the specifics) and info about the company from the careers section of their website.
This is what I have so far... should anything be moved or left out?
FOR THE HEADHUNTER:
How much travel does this job require?
What are the hours?
What’s the next step?
INTERVIEW:
Would you please describe the ideal candidate for this job? What are the day-to-day duties of this job? Do you have anything to add to the job description that XYZ advertised?
How many projects must an employee in this position multitask at once?
Is this a new position or am I replacing someone? · Why was this new position created? OR · May I ask why the employee in this position is leaving or no longer fills it?
How do you measure an employee's performance and provide feedback?
How are employees able to stay current on changes and trends in their field?
How are employees encouraged to continue their professional development over the long term?
Does the management team consist of new hires or people promoted from within?
How are individual pay increases determined? What kind of increase might I expect over the first several years?
How do I compare with the other candidates you've interviewed so far?
AFTER OFFER
Specifics about vacation time, maternity leave, medical benefits.
When would you like me to start?
How long do I have to make a decision?

Re: Questions to ask about a job...
You seem to have a pretty comprehensive list. You could ask them to discuss other benefits after you have the offer (401k, etc.)

The 401K is pretty much explained already on their website.
I want to ask the headhunter how long has he workled with this company and what has been the feedback from people he has placed at this company.
I have never worked with a headhunter before so I am not sure what is apporpriate to ask them.

Re: Questions to ask about a job...
I think the questions you have listed are good. I would ask some general questions about the company, expected growth, etc.

Re: Questions to ask about a job...
Never ever ask about salary of benefits. Let them offer the information first. If they fail to, then ask.

Re: Questions to ask about a job...
I think it's ok to be pretty upfront with the headhunter. I worked with one once, and we spoke frankly.
