Anyone who has thrown a party at a restaurant come on in...
Hi all,
I am thinking about throwing a birthday party for DH in the coming months and was wondering how much restaurants charge per head. Can you share with me some places and prices?
I am looking for a package that includes drinks and maybe a buffet type thing.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

My baby shower was at Peppercorn's in Hicksville. It was about $22 per person plus tax and tip, but that was back in 2004.
We had Sarah's christening at Hemingway's in Wantagh, about $30 per person plus tax & tip. We went for a few menu upgrades, I forget what it would have been otherwise.
Neither one was a buffet, people had a choice from a few appetizers and a few meals. We had sheet cake for dessert for both.
I think they both had buffet packages for less than this.

We had our RD at Family Restaurant in Queens (Forest Hills). I think we paid 29.95 pp with a choice of 3 different dinner options. We had in the the back room.

We're having our RD at Borelli's in Uniondale. They had all different packages that ranged from about $17-$30 pp depending on what you want.

WOW you guys got some great prices.
We are having my parent 50th in a restaurant and we paying about 25pp but it is an additional 12pp for open bar. We couldn't find a plce for under 35pp with openbar.
(our place is in brooklyn but we were willing to go anywhere for the right price)
