What is the difference between Parcel post and first class post

The seller is being a B!TCH!!! In her auction she says $12.95 for PARCEL post. When I contacted her about other options she said she sends this first class.

What is the difference.

PS....She refuses to budge on the shipping. She said "THE SHIPPING IS 12.95. THATS A FLAT RATE I CHARGE WHICH INCLUDES PACKAGING AND 1ST CLASS MAIL AND TRACKING... THE DRESS IS VERY LONG AND HAS LOTS OF MATERIAL AND NEEDS TO BE PACKAGED PROPERLY.."

In the auction: US $12.95 US Postal Service Parcel Post® Estimated delivery 2-9 days United States only

Here's the dress. What kind of packed properly would this need????

I think the differences are just the time it takes to deliver it and the cost. The further the distance a package is shipped, the greater the difference in cost between priority mail and parcel post.

First class is only for things like a letter, and they can't be over 13 oz. I think. Parcel post if the cheapest and longest way to send something, it might have been your best bet to request her to send it priority mail. That's sometimes just a buck or two more and you get it in 2-3 days. That's how I send all the stuff I ebay.

Thanks everyone.

I did ask her to send it priority but she refused. She said what she send is her standard shipping cost for first class and tracking.

I will be crossing my fingers and hoping it gets here by next week. She's literally across the coast so it cant be that long Chat Icon

i hope it gets there i have had nothing but bad luck with parcel post packages aside from media mail that is the slowest worse way to send things - personally i dont shop with people who wont send priority

i will only mail things priority myself

Parcel Post®

Used for gifts and general merchandise, may also contain books and other printed matter. Maximum weight is 70 pounds. The maximum size is 130 inches in combined length and distance around the thickest part.

First-Class Mail®

First-Class Mail® is used for personal and business correspondence. Any mailable item may be sent as First-Class Mail. It includes postcards, letters, large envelopes, and small packages. The maximum weight is 13 ounces.

First class mail is just cheaper for under 13 ounces.
I also dont see how she can send a dress this way..that dress with the small box has got to be over 13 ounces..
I guess you'll soon find out when you receive it..
Sorry..
