Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
We are gutting and redoing our bathroom but am clueless about what to pick. How did everyone decide on their color scheme/style?

I like very fresh, bright colors in the bathroom. We gutt our bathroom and recently just finished. We chose grayish tile and blue walls.
The color is yarmouth blue from Benjamin Moore. I love it! I actualy bought a sample size first to make sure.
Good Luck!

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
We gutted the two upstairs baths and I decided to do all white tiles (square) in the tub surround, white fixtures and white vanity. I then painted it a bright deep blue. I figured all white never goes out of style and I can repaint the bath an entirely different color if I get sick of it.
In our master we also went all white subway tiles with a decorative border around the jacuzzi tub surround and the Roman shower. I picked a white toilet, white sink, Carrera marble (grey and white) top and a cherry finished vanity and linen tower. Again, I can change the paint colors and get a whole new look.

I just picked the tiles that I liked and went from there.

We actually have Yarmouth Blue in our bathroom right now. Our old tile is brown and it looks good together. The bathroom is old but I'd definitely do the color again.

Our bathroom has all white (tile, vanity, & floor) and I painted what little walls I have navy blue- I like having the contrast.

I usually look through tons of magazines looking for some sort of inspiration and then go off that (a tile or vanity, etc) - it usually doesn't look much like the inspiration photo, but I always like it.

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
I have a shower curtain that I totally love, and I like the colors too (cream with green and a little cranberry). I really like neutral colors, so when I do tire of the shower curtain it won't be a big deal to find a new one that will look good.

Too funny! I didn't realize the Yarmouth Blue was so popular. We just did our foyer staircase area in it and I absolutely love the color. It's perfect.

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
We redid one bathroom so far, the tiny one in our master bedroom. We tiled it with a navy blue tile and went only half way up and in the shower. The top half we painted bright white and have a nautical themed wall paper border. White pedestal sink and white toilet. Little white shelves above the toilet.

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
We updated our bathroom - my inspiration was the Potterybarn catalog. I personally like mutted darker colors so for the bathroom I used BM Sage Mountain. Everything else is white - tiles, sink, toilet, tub. The shower rod and robe hooks are bronze (cause I loved them too much to not put them in the basket). I try to balance it out but the shower curtain that I love seems to dark for DH's taste...that I have to go back the drawing board on.

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
Since H/D had a run on beige/cream colored tiles or grey tiles, that was the colors we picked
I sort of wish now we had chosen a different tile for the upstairs bath...to me, it's going to look dated in a few years. I just love the downstairs bath. Very classic.

Re: Bathroom redo: How did you decide on colors?
I did a decorative treatment to blend with the ugly maroon/mauve fixtures. It really makes them diappear. Then I found a great shower curtain to match

The tiles, floor and fixtures are white so we went with a light shade of green - somewhere between sage & mint green. We found a great green & blue shower curtain that softens the green a bit.
