Ovulation kits
Does anyone have recommendations? I don't know if some are found to work better then others.

Re: Ovulation kits
The digital opk from clearblue works very well, and of course the fertility monitor, but it's expensive.

Re: Ovulation kits
Excuse my ignorance!! Is the fetility monitor something different then an OPK?

Yep. It's expensive, it is over $200 but it was the best investment of my life. Takes all the guessing and trying to read OPK's out.

Thanks to both of you!!!! That is a bit $$$$. Maybe we'll try for a couple of months and see how it goes before we splurge for that.

It's a computerized device,...and runs about 160-200 dollars. You need to also purchase the sticks, and that is about 40 dollars.
The sticks detect two different hormones, estradoil and LH. So it pinpoints your surge more accurately. Estradoil is a key hormone..and other opks don't measure it at all, they just control lines.
I am pretty sure the clearblue digital, is using the same sticks, and therefore, is measuring estradoil.

Re: Ovulation kits
I also used the CBE Fertility Monitor. I had a hard time with the OPK's (I was getting a lot of +'s, or perhaps the colors were so close I couldn't tell.) The monitor takes all that guess work out of it. Give the OPK's a try and if you aren't happy with them you always have the monitor as an option.
Good luck!
