Teachers-summer jobs?
I was wondering how many teachers work over the summer? I usually teach summer school or tutor...just wondering if there are other jobs that might pay well and be worth it for the summer??? I am trying to save for a house, so any extra money would help. Thanks!

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
I worked at a summer camp...but in all honesty, the best schedule (and pay) is probably tutoring and summer school.

I worked at a summer camp...
Rich did too- Stony Brook University Summer Camp.
Contact them now if interested! They need actual teachers - it's a academic/athletic camp.

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
I have worked summer school every year. It seems to be the best paying thing out there- better than camp and it's only half a day.

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
I have no idea what i'm going to do this summer!! I would love to not work, but I need to. Since I'm a guidance counselor - summer school jobs are slim pickins - typically one per school. I was thinking of part-time retail so I could at least get a clothes discount, but I don't know...

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
I need a summer job too . . .
My district doesn't offer summer school, so will have to look into other districts (which is a slim chance)
Thought of tutoring . . .
Thought of waitressing (which I have no experience in so who knows where I could be hired . . .)
I also thought about retail . . .

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
I usually work over the summer. My school runs workshops and a summer camp, so I work there. They pay REALLY well. However, I will not be working this summer because I will be having the baby in the end of June.

Re: Teachers-summer jobs?
Last year I did summer school. The money was good and the hours in school were good, but I had to teach a grade I had never taught before, so I spent countless hours getting ready. I think I am only going to do it this year if it is the same grade I normally teach.
