Spinoff: Do you know self defense?
If so, what type?
Mine is screaming at the top of my lungs and kicking in the hee-haws!!!
but really, DH has taught me a few moves, but I can't say I'll remember them when needed....

I took karate when I was younger and then again in highschool... I don't remember all the the moves but I still have quick reflexes!

Um, yes and no. I know restraint techniques and how to get out of being choked, or if someone is holding a knife to my throat. Things like that. I learned as part of my first teaching job w/ emotionally disturbed teens.

I'm an orange belt in Karate...took it for several years. Way out of practice though but I still remember some good moves that would help me, I think.

My only defense is the glass bubble of illusion I live in that nothing will ever happen to me or the bear cub instinct if something were happening to my child.
