Gay marriage has never hurt anyone!

I think that no one wants to take ownership of this issue and forever be branded as the one who allowed gays to marry in NY.

Elliott Spitzer - the likely Democratic nominee for Governor, has publicly stated that he supports gay marriage in ny and will fight to change the law.

I dont know what the big deal is either. If two women want to get married, who am I to tell them they arent allowed to?
Hopefully we will look back in 20 years and say "what was all the fuss about"

this board has done posts like this in the past and I have to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly. However, I also understood some of the other posters belief that it is not as simple as just saying no big deal. I know in some of the opposing posters thoughts they were religion based and also changes in laws and the "whats next" kind of like "foot in the door" idea. Not to say I agree with all those other areas but I can appreciate and understand where other people are coming from as I hope they understand my views.

I don't understand why we just can't allow gay people to get married-
