Teachers - 5th grade supply lists

I need to send home a supply list for my students, and was given an example from another teacher but changed a few things. How does this look?

1. Four one-subject spiral notebooks and one three-subject spiral notebook, wide rule with perforated sheets (college rule is discouraged).
2. Six two-pocket folders for each subject and a homework folder.
3. Several pencils and erasers for daily use.
4. One highlighter for emphasizing important points on learning visuals and study guides.
5. One 16-count box of crayons for various classroom activities.
6. One box of colored pencils for map, chart, and graph projects (The erasable kind are great).
7. Several Elmer’s glue sticks (No bottled glue please).
8. One package of 5”x8” ruled index cards (no primary ruled).
9. One pair of scissors, with rounded tips.

I taught 5th and one thing that I hated my kids having was spiral bound notebooks! It was a nightmare. So we all asked for themarble ones instead and they had one for each subject.

Re: Teachers - 5th grade supply lists

thanks for the suggestions!

I just remember as a student liking spiral a lot more, I hated marble notebooks!

The class I student taught in had spiral, and they worked out well. I guess it just depends on the teachers preference.

Thanks
