Fussing during diaper changes
OK, fussing really dosen't describe it. It's getting to be a full on battle.
As soon as Kevin lies down on the changing table he starts crying and kicking. Sometimes he'll calm down if you give him a book or toy to hold but mostly he yells and tries turning over or going stiff as a board and not letting you put his diaper on.
What is going on?

Taylor is doing the exact same thing...
She screams, kicks and flips over- I think it is their way of exherting control!
Sometimes I literally have to put her diaper on while she is laying on her stomach or while she is standing up.....
Same thing with eating....there are times where she just fights me on eating.
I am hoping this too is just a phase!

We have the same problem! He constantly flips over while trying to change his diaper. DH has basically given up! I'll always give him something to play with...soemtimes it works, sometimes it doesn't......

same problem here!!!! I tend to hand him any and everything to keep him down for 1 min. I even hand him things I usually wouldn't let hm have but he alwasy wanted to touch. It is usually mess

I used to babysit a little girl that was like that. I found that if I talked to her while changing her she would settle down. I would ask her questions, "how does the cow go?" and then I'd moo. "How does the chicken go" bock bock. And so on. Also singing songs worked.

Try hanging something over the changing table like a mirror or something that spins, somethiing to look at. Or giving them something to play with always works for me, the cell phone is a favorite.
