Giving DC different formulas...

Is this ok? I'm still BFing, but not exclusively since I returned to work. My question is, we've been using Enfamil, and DS has been good with it... and we've supplemented with Similac in the past, and he didn't have a problem with that either. Would it be bad to give both formulas? We received so much free formula, that it would be ashame to waste it.

Re: Giving DC different formulas...

they say it's not good to switch brands because there are some differences taste or consistency wise. The change could set off his digestive system.

You could trade with other mommies here, at babycenter.com, or swapbabgoods.com (I think that's the site)

ORRRRR

you could try exchanging it if it's a full size. I did it at walmart (you're not supposed to be able to since it's got an expiration date and all....but if you play up the "I send my husband to get formula and he gets the wrong one" they might exchange it for you!)

See, now, I've heard the opposite. I've heard that if your baby can handle the switch, then it's not a problem.

I think DS can handle it. He's had Similac, Enfamil AND breastmilk. He must have a strong immune system.. lol
