Re: Coming home outfit for baby..?
We're not sure yet b/c we don't know the sex of the baby. I may do just that and buy one of each or take on the yellow or green ones we got at the shower and use it though that won't be as fun.

Re: Coming home outfit for baby..?
I would probably get somethign in a neutral color. Stacy(Scotty and Cassidy's Mom), got me an adorable white outfit with a cute giraffe on it before we knew were were having a girl, and it could easily be used for a boy, too.

Re: Coming home outfit for baby..?
I'd pick one of each and then return the one you dont use.
I found the cutest outfit at BBB to bring her home in...it was $40. DH would freak if I spent that much one one outfit for her.
So I looked around and I ended up finding a one piece little pink outfit without feet which is what I wanted because chances are Im going to have to roll up the sleeves and pants. It was only $7.50!! I couldnt believe it. And we have a white sweater, bootie and cap set that DHs aunt made for us that we're going to use too.
I guess my advice is just that you dont have to spend a ton of $ to get a cute outfit.

Re: Coming home outfit for baby..?
When Sarah was born (late Feb) I brought her home in a green and ivory striped sweater with matching hat, booties and mittens and a pair of tan sweater pants. I plan on getting a gender neutral outfit this time too.
ETA: Denny's Childrenswear lets you register for a boys layette and coming home outfit and a girls one and then you can have a family member run and pick it up once you know it you prefer.

I know my sister is Denny's best costumer and now that they closed the one in baldwin I was just thinking I would get a boy and girl outfit to make it easier for my sister rather than her having to go all the way to bellmore.

I know I am having a boy, so this is not an issue for me but I would get something neutral. From what I have read, you should wash all the articles of clothing before you put them on the baby.

Re: Coming home outfit for baby..?
I think I may pick out one of each. Once the baby's born, I can have my mom or Al wash the appropriate one and bring it to the hospital before we leave. Alternatively, I can wait and see, and then have them pick up something cute.
I don't know if I'd be able to find a gender neutral one thats "special" enough.

I bought one for each. I know I didn't spend alot of money, buy they also weren't cheap -- I would say like $25 each.
