Is 11 months too early to lose the morning nap?
Sidney's mornings used to be like clockwork. Nap at 9am and lasts for 1 1/2 hrs. Now she fights this nap and when she does sleep it is only for 15-30 minutes!!!! Should I stop even trying for this nap? I didn't think they went to one nap till after 1 year. But she ends up being cranky toward lunch time and then I have trouble getting her to sleep for that nap too now (I assume cause she is overtired).
I'm confused

Probably not. Gabriella switched to one nap around the same time.
We had to move lunch a little earlier and slowly push back the lunch/nap in the afternoon until a little later.

That's about right. Delaney gave up the morning nap around 11 months and took 1 long nap a day (usually 2 hours)

My 19 month old still takes two a day for about 2 hours each.

Re: Is 11 months too early to lose the morning nap?
And now today she took her 2 naps. 1st at 9 for 1.5 hrs and one at 1:40 and she's still asleep. She fought the 2nd nap hard though.
Is this how it goes...some days she takes 2 some days one and then eventually it will just be one?
And when they go to one nap what time do you give lunch and what time do they usually nap?
Thanks

Re: Is 11 months too early to lose the morning nap?
NO - say it ain't so!!
Jake is 11 mos now and he's starting to fight his naps now. He's always taken 2 and every so often 3 a day with no fuss but lately he throws a fit for at least 1 of the naps.
I'm not ready to go down to 1 nap a day yet!
I think the fighting is how they start to show they are getting ready to lose the nap. Before Jake shed his 3rd nap he did that - took it every other day for weeks. Now it's just every once in a blue moon that he takes it.
