Diane & karacg - acupuncture questions
I've been seeing an acupuncturist for about 6 months. I did't get referred to him by the clinic and he doesn't specialise in infertility He diagnosed me with spleen deficiency and blood stasis, which we are working on - I try to eat more veggies and exercise. I am also taking herbs (as is DH)
Where did you find your acu? what are their names? Do they specialise in infertility? did you change your diet?
TIA

Re: Diane & karacg - acupuncture questions
Well, fist I was seeing someone who was NOT specialized in fertility -- or much of anything it seems!!
I am seeing now Antoinette Ludden, in Oyster Bay. She was recommended by a friend who went to East Coast a few years ago. Antoinette has about 50% fertility patients (men and women). She has patients who go to East Coast, to NSUH, RSofNY, and Cornell.
She suggested I eat lots of SOUP, and raspberry tea to dry out and warm up my uterus. She also recommended only COOKED veggies (soup instead of salad, for example). I am also taking an herbal supplement to improve my hormone levels.
I think she is great - she has a thriving practice and is very knowlegable. Also takes my insurance, whopeee!! East Coast asked her a few years ago to be their in-house acupuncturist but she did not want to give up her private practice, as whe is very successful.
If you want her #, let me know and you can speak with her and decide for yourself.

Re: Diane & karacg - acupuncture questions
I drink red tea and my acu is trying to get me to use ginger tea, but I really hate it I am also 'cold' and need to warm up. Do you know her rates for those w/o insurance? I'm paying $75 a week and $25 for herbs

Re: Diane & karacg - acupuncture questions
I think she is $75 per session, and the herbal supplement she did not charge me for. I think the initial visit might be $90 tho, for diagnosis and all.

Re: Diane & karacg - acupuncture questions
mine is recommend by my RE. In fact Sylvester on here sees her. Her name is Dr. Christine Bauer. I LOVE her. She specializes in infertility and is also a chiropractor. She is GREAT. She wanted to do herbs if I went to her sooner, but my RE is not really into me doing them while doing IVF. If you want more info FM me.

Yes i go to the same person - dr. bauer - diane goes to her also. I think she is very good. She specializes in infertility. I think that is important. she really is good. I have not done herbs yet with her, but plan on it now that we are trying on our own for a little while. hey, maybe the acupuncture will do the trick. if you need any other info fm me. thanks rosanna
