Diaper rash
DS has a bad diaper rash. My Dr. said to use mineral oil and then put ointment, A&D, Desiten ect. But still is not going away. I am using wipes to clean his bottom but he seems to be too wet from the wipes so I think I should dry him before I put the ointments on what do I use to dry him? Do I use a dry wash cloth, or paper towels?? Do you think this could be the reason why he has a rash?

Re: Diaper rash
I would let it air as much as possible and then put on Bourdreaux's Butt Paste. It was the only thing that helped my DS rash.

Re: Diaper rash
I wouldn't even recommend using wipes if there is a bad diaper rash. They irritated my DD VERY badly. WHen her rash was bad we used plain baby washclothes with just some warm water. Then to air her out I'd make sure I had a waterproof pad below her bootay and I'd actually hold her up by her legs the way you do when your lifting to put a diaper under them and I'd fan her off with the diaper for a few minutes.
Also the doctor can check to see if it is a rash or if it is a yeast infection, for which they'd prescribe a Nystatin cream.
I also used Boudreax's Butt Paste and it does work well, as does Triple Paste which you can also get OTC at the pharmacists.

Re: Diaper rash
Our ped. recommended Triple Paste with bacitracin. It worked really well! For a yeast infection, we use nystatin.

Re: Diaper rash
TRIPLE PASTE works the best for diaper rash and is safe if the skin is alittle raw and broken. One application you notice a change in the rash and it heals fast. the only store i have seen it in is CVS and its about $9 for a small tube but SO worth it. I always try to have it in the house.

Re: Diaper rash
Triple paste also worked for us. We didn't use wipes, just washcloths with warm water. Also, after cleaning him, we pat his bum with dry washcloths. He had a rash very early on and hasn't had one since.

Costco has a huge jar for 25.00. I swear by this stuff. Rebecca used to bleed her rashes were so bad!
