Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
What would or maybe did you do??
I am going tomorrow to look at bridesmaids dresses for my friend who is getting married in November. I am due the beginning of September so I am sure all the baby weight wont be gone. Do I need to be measured anyway? What should I do?? I have no idea how to handle this???

Re: Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
I had my DD in July and my sisters wedding was in November so I to didnt have that much time to get back into shape again, but I waited as long as I could to get measured. See what the bridal place's policy is to how long you can wait to be measured. I waited till the month before.

Re: Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
If the wedding is in Nov. you will probably have to order no later than Sept. Ask the shop what is the latest you can order. If the manufacturer is local, you may be able to order as late as 4 weeks before the dress is needed. If not local, you may be able to pay a little extra for a "rush cut". If you HAVE to order before you are ready, you need to assess how much weight you gained and where you are carrying it. It may be in areas easily disguisable by the dress. If not, you should order a size or 2 up from your usual measurements and have it altered. It is always easier and cheaper to make a dress a size smaller than a size larger.
The business about having to have the whole bridal party order together because of the different "dye lots" isn't always true either. I think sometimes it is just what the stores tell brides to get the bridesmaids to all order there so they can't price compare. I had one of my bridesmaids order a month after the others because she was PG, and another one ordered her dress from another store because she lived in NYCand wasn't going to come to the island for fittings, etc. All the dresses looked identical.

Re: Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
last june we went to be fitted for my friends wedding which is this july. i figured i would be preg so i ordered the biggest size dress knowing it could be altered. maybe do that, dress places usually cap alterations at a certain price, so no matter what size you are, it can be taken in.
as for me, i am due june 13 and the wedding is july 3. i am usually a size 8 and ordered a size 18 so i'm sure i will have to take it in a little, but i'm glad i have the option!

Re: Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
I am due the beg of May, and in a bridal party the end of Sept, but the very organized bride is having me order my dress by the beginning of March while I am 8 months pg! I think I am going to have them measure me while pg, and order the dress that would fit me now, make sure my alterations are capped, and go with that so I have no pressure. I would rather take it in, then let it out.

Re: Post pregnancy bridesmaid...
I am due April 19th and I am in a wedding June 24th. I was 14 weeks when they measured me and I almost fit into the sample size which was 12 so I ordered myself a size 16 because I plan on breastfeeding and I have big chest to begin with. I would try on the sample and go from their even if it wont zip at least it gives you an idea of where you will stand pp.
