What do your toddlers drink during the day?
In addition to their milk... what do you offer them to drink during the day? Michael has been having poopy issues and I read that apple and grape juice are bad to have. I'm wondering if I cut out the juice his belly will be better - he doesn't drink that much, it's pretty much just water and a drop of juice for flavor because he will NOT drink plain water. Any suggestions out there?

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
Aidan is 21 months and he still drinks about 16 ozs of milk per day (breakfast and dinner mostly). I offer juice to switch it up during the day, but its just the same way you do it maybe 1/4 juice (apple, or juicy juice) and the rest water. He will drink plain water though. He would drink more if I let himbut then he eats less.
I don't think the drop of apple that you are giving him would be binding him, but if you think it might why not try OJ? its such a small amount and they have low acid now. My niece prefers OJ to apple. Or a type of nectar, like pear?
Do he get alot of fiber? DS eats alot of berries and melon and granola so I think that counteracts any apple juice binding that may happen.
Would he drink prune? just a drop of that might do the trick.

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
Thank you...
Actually I should've clarified - but Michael is not having a problem going - he's going too much!!! And it's too loose - we are waiting on stool sample test results (sorry TMI)... but I've been reading that apple, grape and pear juice is bad for diarreah...
Thanks again!

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
ohhhhhhhhhhhh! ok, well thats a horse of a different color!
Geez I've actually heard the opposite about apples.
Well I hope his test comes out ok, the poor little guy! If it turns out to be just balancing the fiber, try bananas
Also diarhea is an imbalance of fluid in the bowel (of course from all different causes hence your testing..) but try to get pedilayte or gatorade into him to keep him hydrated!

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
lol - thanks for you input! At this point, I'm surprised he's not sick of bananas, lol!
Pedialyte is no good - he refuses it and will not drink anything unless I show him what it is and put it in a different sippy!
I sent DH out to get banana juice, so hopefully it will help...
Thanks for your 's!

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
Hi. My son is two and I give him mostly milk and water throughout the day. I also give him one cup of juice a day, usually apple or white grape (his favorites). I don't know exact amounts, though. If your son doens't like regular pedialyte, I would try the clear. My son hated every other flavor, but I guess the clear is similar to water.

Re: What do your toddlers drink during the day?
What about the other kid friendly type juices like Sunny D or the Capri Sun type stuff? What about the yogurt type drinks?
