Summer House in North Fork
So my parents and me and DH have decided to go in for a house on the North Fork for a summer getaway house. My parents have been wanting to do this for some time and me and DH have dreamed of it.
Anyway, we are looking for nothing above $550 for any town on the North Fork. Well i'm talking to this realtor over email and she keeps harping on this one house that was 515K and has now been lowered to 499.....I'm sorry but this house is small, in a kind of dark place with lots of trees and not really what we are looking for and way too expensive for what you are getting. So I emailed her back and said that it really is not our taste but we are willing to take a look at it if we have time. (We have given her three houses that we want to go see). So she responds to me that I should go see it to see what the "foundation" of value is
I just don't get why she keeps harping on this one. The others we want to see are higher then 499 so wouldn't she try and sell those rather then this house that probably is having issues with selling??
Err.sorry had to vent.

Re: Summer House in North Fork
My mom is currently selling a house through Colony Realty. Have you checked them out. They seem great. My mom has sold a few houses through them.

Re: Summer House in North Fork
it could be like the "lemon" house... any house that is on the market for a long time then the price gets lowered in this market-- something's up..
I am picturing all the agents putting into a pool and the agent who sells the house wins..
I would change realtors.. some stink- some don't

Re: Summer House in North Fork
Actually one of the houses KP that you posted i saw already. We really like one in Southold that we are hoping to see before it goes into sale.
We are going out next weekend so if i get a bad vibe from her then i will take you guys up on some recommendations.
Kathy - I never thought about the fact that she might know the people who own it or what. I just thought it was weird what she said to me. Because the house we like in SOuthold is only like 15K more then that one and has a lot more to offer I think.
