Ultra Screen sono?
I just had my second doc. appointment, my next isn't for four weeks - the same time he had me make an appointment for an Ultrascreen sono.
Just wondering what to expect - is it an in or external sono? Do you get to see your little bean?
How is this sono different from other sonos?

I had my ultrascreen sono done at 11 weeks. Yes, it is optional. It measures the thickness of the neck folds to determine the probability for Downs. It is coupled with blood work I had taken at my 15 week visit.
I had it done in my docs office and it was external.

It's external and lasts about 15 mins (give or take) and its with a level II sono machine so you should get a nice high-def picture of your little baby!

I had an external and it was sooo clear. You could see little fingers
I am not sure why people would opt not to do it. I wanted to see if the baby was ok. If the baby wasn't they I would want to get ready for the baby's special needs.
They also take a prick of blood.
