stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
i read that if u exposed yourself(stomach/legs etc..) to the sun while pregnant then the chances of having stretch marks increase by 75%. can anyone relate?

My belly never saw the light of day during pregnancy and I still have horrible stretch marks, so go freaking figure.

Same here- Ive also heard they are genetic- which would explain alot in my case!

I heard they were genetic too. Something about collagen in the skin. I haven't heard about stretch marks & the sun. I have heard about the sun making the "mask of pregnancy" (dark blotches on the face) worse.

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
I've been in the sun all summer and I don't have any stretch marks on my belly -yet (I'll be 31 weeks Friday) I do however have stretch marks on my booty, which has never ever seen the light of day.

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
my belly wasn't exposed to the sun and i still got them. i really think they're genetic and if you're going to get them, there's really nothing that will stop them from appearing.

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
Last summer while pregnant my belly was exposed to the sun and I got no stretch marks... My mom and sister never got them either... They didn't use cocoa butter and I did... I think it's just genetics...

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
My belly never saw the light of day while preggo. My mother got horrible stretchmarks from my brother and I. I used cocoa butter and anti itch oil religiously and got not one mark. I can't even say it's genetic because of my situation???

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
I know that theory is false. I spent my entire pregnancy in the sun. First and Second trimester in a Bikini and then in a tankini for the third since we live on the Gulf of Mexico. Heck, I even tanned pregnant once or twice. I heard drinking tons of water and good creme work and they did for me. I used Barmon creme which alot of weighlifters use and is safe for pregnancy. The only stretch marks even after my gross weight gain are the ones I got from the freshmen fifteen back in 1997 on my hips, none from Jack.

I didn't get stretch marks and I was in the sun a lot! I did get the mask of pregnancy...and looked like a raccoon.
It's genetic...stretch marks...

Re: stretch mark theory...is it true or not?
I don't think it's true. I was in the sun for the last 3 months of pregnancy (I've heard these are the worst for stretch marks), my belly was exposed and tan and I didn't get any stretch marks.
