Has anyone had laser hair removal?

A friend of mine wants to get it for her lip. Has anyone had it done? If so, how much did it cost, and where did you go (she wants a dr. to do it)? TIA!

Re: Has anyone had laser hair removal?

I had it done on my legs and OUCH! It definately hurt. Supposedly, I was more sensitive than most...but I can't imagine it on your upper lip.

The downside....if your friend is currently waxing, once she starts the laser treatments, she CANNOT wax, she'll mess up the hair follicles or something.

The whole process takes a few months or more (I went for 5 or 6 treatments about two years ago). My legs are NOT hair free, I'm supposed to go back for "upkeep" treatments...I'm done with it.

It was great for about 6-8 months, but then the hair slowly came back. It's definatley not the way it use to be, but like I said, it's what I thought.

Oh wow, I thought it was permanent hair removal. Chat Icon Hmm. I'll have to warn her--thanks! So "upkeep" appointments are required? How often?

I really don't know how many upkeep appointments are required, I never followed up...it was a lot of money to begin with, I just didn't want to continue.

It definately isn't permanent. My sister had it done and about 9 mths later it came back. Not as much as before, but still came back.
