Re-post from Preg. need all the answers possible

Please help - I have anxiety issues already, getting off meds for that to try to TTC. I just need some questions answered, has anyone been so excited for the thought of TTC and having a baby then actually get preg. and freakout? I am excited for everything, but when that stick comes out that I am preg. I feel like I am going to freak out - does that mean I am not ready? I am just soo nervous, turning 31 soon, and ready to start, we have the house and I really can't wait to be a mom. I do have to go over some stuff with my boss, materinity leave and $$ issues, but There are soo many things that make me nervous. Anyone in the same boat as me???

Thanks girls,

I think you need to relax and take a deep breath. Not everything you listed has to be dealt with at once. I think a lot of women were very excited to get pregnant and then were completely scared by the idea of becoming a mother. I think that is a natural reaction to change.

Once you are pregnant and several months along, you can discuss with your boss materity leave and company policy. Unless you aren't going to try to get pregnant because of work, then whatever it is isn't really an obstacle.

I would also talk to your OB/GYN about alternatives to helping with your anxiety. There may be meds that are safe to take.

Good luck!

I would probably say that most brides whether they have anxiety issues or not are overwhelmed when they see a positive pregnancy. Dont be hard on yourself. I think its a common thing. Take it one day at a time. I havent personally been on meds before but could u still take something small to alleviate the anxiety without putting the baby at risk? Maybe u should talk to your dr.

Re: Re-pist from Preg. need all the answers possible

I have to say that I too feel the same way at times. I really can't wait to be a mom but I am scared at the same time. I'm scared that my body wont get back into shape, I wonder what stress my relationship with my DH will have, I worry about the annoying in laws and IM TERRIFIED OF LABOR!!! But.... on the other hand I cant not wait to see that little face, I cant help but wonder who will he/she look like , I already can feel the love I have for this child. Fear I think is normal but its all about the unknown. I knew that I was ready when I didn't get pregno the first time(month) and I was absolutely and completely crushed

Re: Re-post from Preg. need all the answers possible

I am glad u posted this I used to feel this way and kind of still do, until this past week when I straightened certain things out about afterwards when I do have a baby. I think it was instilled in our heads about being preg. before we were ready... Ex: being a teen mom etc. But I thought to myself, I am married now, have a home and a husband, it is okay to have a babay.
I am glad I am not alone on this.
