House Hunting is a comedic experience!
FH called a few weeks ago on a house. Definitely a handyman special, but we are ok with that!
So the agent calls out of the blue and asks if we are still interested (a buyer probably backed out) and we say yes.
so she says, ok meet you at 7. by the way, bring a flashlight.
apparently there is no electricity? what have I gotten myself into!!

it actually wasnt the worst house we have seen - it was empty - it looked like someone was trying to fix it up before they sold it but stopped.
of course, there were big gaping holes in some walls and the idiots tried to replace the upstairs bath, ripped out the floor, and now there is a hole in the floor so you can look down into the downstairs bath
we are going to keep it on the list - they arent very negotiable, but i think the price is giong to come down again.
so for anyone who says I complain about wanting a perfect house - um yea a house I am considering has HOLES IN THE WALLS

LOL thats true! we would literally put up new sheetrock everywhere. the house has a great layout upstairs, but the downstairs is weird - so we would knock down walls and stuff.

It sounds like you're more than game and totally in the mindset to buy in LI. I commend you for that! 
I would run far because I'm too chicken and don't know how to do anything...

we know our house is going to be when we buy, but it will be nice once we fix it. im more nervous about it than FH - but he knows how to throw a hammer and his dad is retired and bored!

you should have looked on LI before NC for some laughs!!! its AMAZING how gross these homes are!
this one is sad - it looks like it was really nice at one point, and someone just didnt take care of it.
